Why You're Wrong About Revelations

In the lead-up to Black Ops III's final zombies map, the hype was the highest the series has ever seen, before or since. Almost any map would have trouble measuring up to those expectations, and it didn't help that this was a different kind of finale than we'd seen before. Instead of ending with a massive bang and giving us something we'd never seen anything like before, like Moon or Origins, Revelations explicitly almost *only* gave us things we *had* seen. But in my opinion, what they did with adding *depth* to that nostalgia was transformative, and that allows it to stand on its own as a great map...

How Gorod Krovi Perfected the Modern Zombies Formula

Am I the only one who miss Jimmy Zielinski zombie style? Jason was a great writer for the storyline of course but it felt too much apart of what zombie was dedicated for. I miss when you can just load a game and survive, in bo3 and further you have to open youtube to find a guide that shows you how to build an insane amount of things that keeps you alive after round 10.. buried was the end of the load and survive era, and I miss it. Today im stuck playing Zielinski maps again and again cause this is my way to play zombie : load -> power -> pap -> survive as long as you can.

Unpopular opinion this is where I started hating on zombies beacouse it was to complex and to much going on and I never thouch it again after giving it a shot few times. Buried and mob of the dead was my last time I played that mode that was actually fun and casual

Zetsubou in general is underrated. Unless you have Shopping Free, you can open almost half of the entire map easily, but the setup process is what killed me the most.

but if you think about it the meaning of revelations is literally the making known of something that was previously secret so in these previous maps the unknown was the shadow man and monty we saw the shadow man turning the world into ruins which made a clusterF of the maps we played on. it fits perfectly.

Zetsubou was really the only BO3 map to get hate from the masses/majority of players (still a minority of players) when it came out. I never understood the hate. There is SO much content in this map. Very cool and unique wonder weapon, multiple boss fights, side easter eggs. Der eisen drach is one of my favorite maps of all time, but its incredibly simple and easy. Zetsubou content wise is better because it has so much to do.

Saying "OG players since WAW didn't like shadows" is simply wrong. On release shadows was loved by streamers and OG players. COD3 was my first COD, but WAW really got me into COD and zombies. BO3 was the last zombies I actually enjoyed. On release (I preordered at game stop lmao) shadows was loved. Go back and watch easter egg hunts. The vibes were immaculate. Say you didn't play zombies until BO4 without saying you didn't play zombies until BO4💀

  • @Sonic-gy7kq

Revelations WAS the end of zombies. BO4 is not cannon because it is such a shitty game and beyond lazy story telling. Revelations was the last worthwhile zombies map released. You can tell "new zombies fans" by if they actually thought BO4 and or cold war zombies was good. They aren't.

It amazes me that these memories were formed over a decade ago, I remember the day that I came home and bought the dlc for buried, me and my buddy Steven always played that map together, those memories I will cherish for a lifetime, it was an amazing experience back then to get a new zombies map, I was so deeply entranced with the story and lore at the time, I remember watching ngtzombies, rofflewaffles, and therelaxingend always staying up to date on new map finds

Having played the beta for the new die rise remastered/reimagined from the steam workshop for bo3 I think some of the points made regarding phd and the key system are difficult to agree with. For instance, the introduction of phd to the reimagined version has opened up new pathways between buildings that could not previously be recognised, this has increased the flow down the map even further and it’s very fun for the player to use. The perk itself is locked behind a mini ee where you rebuild the elevator key pad so u can selected the PhD floor, this adds further depth to the map and it’s a nice little bonus after the original trolling from treyarch. PhD also allows you to jump off the map and return to the spawn room red screen, this helps further with map flow giving a new route back to the top of the map. The reworking has also introduced a shared inventory system, similar to mob, origins and all of bo3/4. This has lead to the key system no longer being a one time use which has greatly increased the usage of the elevators by the player. This gives further routes through the map for the player to explore. The key also has an upgrade to the golden key which has a multitude of uses most notably allowing access to more perks than the original 6. Overall die rise is a really fun map, especially for high rounds, the ee is quite easy and fun to complete with friends. The new reimagined version builds on this and fixes many of the issues in the original while also allowing the player to access that over powered state that is seen in buried and revelations.

Moon was actually goated, but since it came out at the end of Blops it wasnt played as much as it should have been. Side note this was the last game to incentivize team coordination to this degree because this was the point where people began to move away from using in game voice chat as much, and we would later see as the dominate state of gaming from the xbox one where it fully took over until the present day

The strat in 5 from my time was to camp the bottom elevator all sitting inside and cycling who was guarding the back window, then when it got bad buy the elevator and do it again from the top, rinse and repeat. Then run out after moving floors to get packapunch. Also it was one of the least successful maps if you played with people who didnt know the strat. In my experience the worst map was for sure shangrila you could never get a lobby for it and everyone was miserable when in the map. I remember playing Five for hours on end with people and showing them the ropes, and easily making it to the 40s most of the time

i always see people harking on the fire bow. the upgrade quest is too hard or complicated its not good enough blah blah. honestly, i dont get them. i think the fire bow is the most fun bow to upgrade (maybe because im on k and m). its also a very good bow to use, just requires some training to make very good use of it, as a charged shot can remove a full train. the only silver lining is that i dont have to fight over what bow to get (because no one else wants fire!)

I like Transit, die rise, five and moon but shangri la I hate it i just played the map when I got it with my brother for a few weeks and we never played that map again and never will. I get it that the map is rewarding for most people in this comment section bur not for me and my brother. For me and my brother was die rise it is fun instead of frustrating and the whos who perk was a blast every time i remember we usually died around round 18 to 20 and if you managed to survive with whos who buying perks and a wall gun it is the best fealing ever. From what I see from most people in this comment section shangri la is not underrated, die rise is and whos who is more underrated and is a shame the map is not on bo3 and the community made a der rise map that was already added with a dlc and also a mob of the dead but no one did die rise.
